Spatial visibility analysis is one of the main features of the simulation of three-dimension environment. Advantages and disadvantages of visibility analysis directly affects the results of the analysis of the accuracy and efficiency, ultimately restricts the command decisions. Proceeding from the terrain model and characteristics of the data in this article, discussion on visualization analysis, in-depth study of multi-resolution analysis of three-dimensional terrain visualization, propose a new method. Main works are as follows:1. Introduces the spatial visibility analysis of related concepts, theories research. Summarizes the concepts, methods and provides an overview of the spatial analysis and spatial visualization analysis. Spatial analysis on Foundation conducted a study of data organization and management. Describe the visualization of related technologies.2. In the visibility analysis of unified model under the guidance of implementation of the visualization analysis of module design. Classification according to the analysis contains the visual elements. Several methods about visibility analysis commonly used for in-depth discussion and practice.3. According to the technical characteristics of three-dimensional battlefield of geographic information system, we proposed using depth buffer to three-dimensional visibility analysis. We summarize the advantages and disadvantages of this method. We compared the speed and accuracy of several methods. Depth buffer method satisfies requirements.4. Discusses the visualization methods of visibility analysis from the perspective of visual sense and visual variables. Enabling visualization of visibility analysis results5. To achieve of the global analysis of three-dimensional battlefield visualization of geographic information module, taking into account the effect of curvature on the visibility analysis, enables visibility analysis and visualization of analysis results.
