Nano-fiber because of its high nonlinear optical effect plays an important role in the detection characteristics, optical fiber sensing and optical fiber communications and now it is a research focus about highly nonlinear media. The dispersion of nano-fiber is affected by the characteristics of materials, structures and nonlinear effects. In this paper, we analyse the waveguide dispersion of nano-fiber by simulating the transmission of a single pulse with different parameters in nano-fiber and introduce the effect of structure and nonlinear optical effects on the time domain and frequency domain of the pulse. On fiber structure, we analyse it in two ways. On the one hand, analyse the changes in dispersion with different nano-fiber core radius at a fixed wavelength. On the other hand, analyse the changes in dispersion with different wavelength at a fixed nano-fiber core radius. We use computer to get accurate results. On fiber nonlinear effects, we analyse it in two ways. On the one hand, analyse the nonlinear effects on the low peak power pulses. On the other hand, analyse the high-order nonlinear effects on the high peak power pulses including the analysis of the combined effect of all the non-linear effects on pulses. We use the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method to simulate and analyse the nonlinear effects and find that the simulation results is consistent with theoretical calculations. Finally, We analyse the dispersion characteristics of elliptical nano-fiber and discuss the effect of process errors on the fiber dispersion.
