With the development of the wireless communication technology and rapid growth of the mobile users, diversification and generalization in mobile services have become the most obvious trend in the present mobile commucation field.Meanwhile, the users'requests of high data rate and serve-quality provided by communication operators are becoming more urgent than before. However, the available radio resource is running short and the spectral efficiency is lower than expected. Therefore, driving by the technology and market factors, communication systems such as LTE continuously improves the network architecture and radio interface technology. In this background, increasing the peak data rate, improving the quality of services and enhanceing the spectral efficiency have become the research focus of the present communications.Wireless packet scheduling algorithms use the available radio resource, current channel status and QoS requirements etc. to select users. As an indispensable part of radio resource management, the design and optimization of wireless packet scheduling algorithms have a key role in solving the aboving problems. This paper mainly study the scheduling algorithms with simulation analysis.First of all,the objective of LTE system evolution,network architecture and key techneques are introduced and analysed,the summaries based on the content and characters of radio resource management are made in the following part.Secondly,analysis is made about the challenges faced by the current scheduling algorithms,then the main performance evaluation metrics of the algorithms are introduced.According to the in-depth study of current algorithms including scheduling strategy,advantages and disadvantages operation process,as well as performance simulation,this paper compared and summarized the charactors of the current scheduling algorithms.Thirdly,on the basis of current algorithms, the urgency and efficiency based algorithm is presented by introducing the ultility function and modified efficiency function,with massive simulation work.The paper also compares the performance with certain algorithms and makes some conclusions.Finally,the whole paper is summarized,and inadequancy of the study is pointed out. Meanwhile,the related issues for the further study are also presented by the end of the paper.
