The information involved in the Internet of Things (IoT) application is enormous and increases exponentially. It has become an important problem requiring solutions to raise the efficiency of the transmission of services information. Meanwhile, an efficient and secure service application protocol with low overhead is urgently needed for the heterogeneous devices of IoT which features high information security requirement and resource consumption.Application protocols based on Client/Server, especially the large numbers of redundant SOAP-based messages generated is studied in this thesis. Meanwhile, it analyzes the characteristics of sensing data collected by the sensor nodes and SMAP (SOAP Multicast Application Protocol) was proposed according to the similarity theory and application layer multicast ideas. Compared to traditional unicast SOAP protocol, SMAP decreases the network traffic in services request as well as improves the communication bandwidth efficiently. In addition, the application protocols employed in IoT platform is still under research. Therefore, the ISSAP (Intelligent Secure Service Application Protocol) is proposed in this thesis with the following characteristics:firstly, a novel protocol of package structure is adopted, which reduces the complexity of packages at the highest degree; secondly, an efficient ASN.l-based encoding and decoding mechanism is employed so as to ensure the safety of the private data of the customers to a certain extent. The analysis proves that it dramatically lowers the service traffic and saves more network resource, and has great scalability and robustness. It is perfectly adaptive to service communication in IoT platform. According to the simulation testing, in the specific network platform, ISSAP has good performances on resource overhead and can support high-volume service communications.
