Image-based rendering to build the virtual scene with the image can be very good to overcome the real-time rendering problem in virtual tour. In recent years, image based rendering of the panorama technology is developing rapidly, it has been applied to the internet map and virtual reality systems.This paper is around the building of the panorama, a single node panorama and multi-node panorama view to start. Paper first compare panorama projection model, and choose cylindrical panorama as a research object, and then the cylindrical panorama shooting mode was introduced. In the image registration stage, this article describes a SIFT based automatic image registration algorithm, which without human intervention to the case of image registration. In the image fusion stage, because of the image registration error and the different camera environment, there are joints and the exposure different problems between images. This paper use multi-resolution spline fusion technology and exposure fusion to solve the problems, and ultimately a cylindrical panorama is stitched. Then, single node and multi-node panorama view technology are introduced, in which a single node panorama view of the principles and implementation techniques are introduced, using image interpolation to solve the zoom image problem. In the multi-node viewing, at present, the image blurred method is used to achieve the transition between the view nodes. First paper introduce view morphing technology and Huang algorithms, next the FFT-based view of the deformation algorithm is proposed to solve the view point transition problem.Finally, we designed a panorama based virtual reality system. This describes the system's composition, and use view space and space chain to construct the entire scene. Then analysis the browsing method of the virtual reality system based on the cylindrical panorama. Last use image compression and part load images algorithms to solve the management of the large number of image data in virtual reality system.
