Design And Development Of The Soft Switch Tester's Back-end System

As the Control Function Entity of next-generation network, Soft Switch technology is the core technology of the next-generation network. It can provide Call Control Function for next-generation network with real-time requirements. This technology has already been using by many domestic and foreign telecommunications operators, and also achieved significant progress during the past years. Thus, it is essential for the operators to develop a soft exchange tester which can monitor and make assessment about voice quality and network performance of the Soft Switch-based networks.The back-end system of Soft Switch tester is to complete the following three areas of work:(1) Assessing voice quality, like MOS (Mean Opinion Score);(2) Monitoring network performance, including time delay (average time delay), delay jitter, packet loss, etc.(3) Detecting call status abnormalities, like single-pass, silence, call drop, crosstalk, resound, etc.In this article, we designed and developed the back-end systems of Soft Switch tester, and also did some further research about this product. The main achievements are obtained as follows:1 Analyzed the system architecture and the workflow of Soft Switch tester, divided the work of the front-end and back-end system.2 Made overall design of the back-end system, containing voice quality assessment module, network performance monitoring module, human-machine interface, data storage and management, and system scheduling function.3 Developed back-end system software according to the overall design.4 Exhibited the achievements of human-machine interface and data storage of back-end systems, illustrated the function of Soft Switch tester and the necessity of monitoring and assessing the data in back-end systems...
