In recent years, with the development of information technology, the grid technology entered a stage of rapid development. With the massive demand of network bandwidth, grid applications have higher demands for the network system. With various advantages such as lower network latency, huge bandwidth, lower cost, transparent transmission and so on, optical network has become a feasible solution to satisfy the demand of the grid application. With all the advantage of optical network and grid technology, optical grid technology has drawn more and more attention of people.In this thesis, the key problem of"optical network resources scheduling for grid applications"is investigated in detail. Meanwhile, the strategies of more effective optical network routing and resources scheduling are explored in new grid environment. The main achievements and conclusions are listed as follows:1) The background and architecture of the optical grid are summarized. Several key technologies of the optical grid and the international and domestic research development of the resources scheduling are analyzed.2) The key factors of optical grid resources scheduling technology are analyzed. After the importance of considering physical layer impairments in the optical network routing algorithm is discussed, three main control plane expansion schemes, considering the physical layer impairments, are studied and compared.3) The optical network routing algorithm considering physical layer impairments, which merged with layered graph model, is proposed at the first time. This algorithm, taking into account of various transmission impairments, guaranteed the optical network service quality. The simulation results show that this algorithm remarkably reduced the network blocking rate.4) An optimization optical network resources scheduling strategy, considering load balance, is proposed. With the quality of service guaranteed, the service requests are assigned to each link in the network evenly. The simulation results show that, the load balance on each link is achieved effectively by this algorithm, and the network blocking rate is reduced.Main innovation in this thesis: the more efficient optical network routing and resources scheduling strategies in the optical grid environment are proposed. The optical network routing optimization algorithm for grid applications which considering the physical layer impairments is investigated. Optical network resources scheduling optimization algorithm which considering the load balance is proposed. The performance of optical grid is optimized. And by establishing the simulation platform, the feasibility and superiority of the strategies are verified.
