Developments of science and technology cause information and network to become general trend of our current social progress. In addition, continuous improvement as well as wide application of internet and digital technologies causes image data quick and convenient transmissions in the internets. However, potential security hazard of data transmissions become more and more severe, and criminal offense aiming at network information become increasingly serious. Nowadays, effective protection of image data has been important question of brain powers. As everyone knows, encryption on data information can protect security of important information effectively. Hence, information encryption technology has been an important technology growing rapidly.At present there have been a lot of encryption algorithms that can protect security of text information effectively, but not suitable for protection of image information. On the other hand, with develop of decryption technology, a part of the existing encryption algorithms are easily decrypted. There still exist some questions as classical encryption methods are directly applied in image information protection, so that some scholars put forward some new encryption algorithms aiming at characteristics of image.This paper adopts a novel idea that applies chaotic neural network into image encryption, and makes relevant software preliminary design, and proposes a new image encryption algorithm based on chaotic neural network. In addition, this paper designs encryption software, and tests the proposed encryption algorithm. The test results suggest that the encryption software based on chaotic neural network is promising.The following works are completed in this paper. The first chapter briefly summarizes the research background and significance. The second chapter presents several chaotic neural network models and their develop status, chaotic neural network with permanent maintenance of chaos, dynamic characteristics together with confidentiality of chaotic time series. The third chapter analyzes characteristics of chaotic time series generated by wavelet chaotic neural network with permanent maintenance of chaos. The forth chapter studies the application on image encryption of time series based on wavelet chaotic neural network, and discusses the realization on image encryption of time series based on wavelet chaotic neural network, and evaluates different image encryption algorithms.This paper makes experiments on the proposed encryption algorithm using MATLAB. The simulation results show that this algorithm has very good effects on image encryption. And studies show that effects of image scrambling also can achieve the encryption requirements. In addition, image distortion didn't appear after decryption on the encrypted image, and the run process of the encryption algorithm is faster. The simulation shows that this algorithm still has certain ability to resist cut attack, and that stability of the encryption algorithm is satisfying.
