Potassium titanyl phoshate (KTP) is a biaxial crystal with excellent nonlinear optical properties, electo-optic properties. In the late 1980s, The technology of KTP crystal growth made great progress,the quality of crystal has been improved a lot.So,KTP had can be widely used as intracavity and outer-cavity frequency doubling materials in laser KTP crystal is used as requency doubling materials and also has ben used in optical parametric oscillation,differece/sum frequency integrated nonlinear optics,electro-optic modulation,direction and optica waveguide etc.Y.Hirano,with two KTP crystals,obtained the output of the green laser with power of 230W and frequency doubling efficiency of 65.2%.HuoYujing etc realized both intracavity Q-switch and frequency doubling fuctions. So far, a single KTP crystal simultaneously used as Q-switch and optical parametric oscillator has been not reported. In this paper, The successful development of double function device will make Q-switching parametric oscillator more compact, more stable, as well as less cavity insertion loss, improved efficiency, and reduced cost of product.therefore,it's necessary to do the study of double function device that KTP used as eletro-optica Q-switch and optical parametric oscillator.Main contents and results of the dissertation are as follows:1 Introducing lightning adjustable Q, sound-light adjustable Q and saturable absorber adjustable Q basic principle simply. Crystal of electro-optic effect and its application. We detailed account of electro-optic effect and application of crystal..2 Introducing the spread of monochromatic plane wave in crystal simply and studying the theory of phase matching and effective nonlinear coefficients.Also,the relationships between effective nonlinear coefficients, output parametric wave length and phase matching angle are numerical simulated and analysed.3 In this chapter, a single KTP crystal used as both intracavity voltage-increased electro-optic Q-switch and optical parametric generator simultaneously is researched theoretically. The external applied voltage and optimum type-II phase matching angles for KTP crystal is theoretically analyzed, and the relationships between the quarter-wave voltage, output parametric wave length and phase matching angle are numerical simulated. The research of this double function device has vital significance for compact electro-optic (EO) Q switching optical parametric oscillator (OPO).We desined and studied the lectro-optic (EO) Q switching optical parametric oscillator, including resonator type,the way of lightning adjustable Q and Pumping modes.
