With the rapid development of multimedia and Internet technology, there is a urgent problems to solve for digital media products copyright protection. Digital watermarking technique is an effective method to solve the problem of digital copyright protection and this technology will be a research hotspot for a long time as the long-term for copyright problem . Because of the particularity uses of watermark, digital image watermarking technology not only requires the embedded watermark information has the very good invisibility, but also can resist the attack from consciously or unconsciously, it has the very high robustness. The proposed algorithm showed excellent characteristics in the two aspects.This paper firstly introduced the basic theory of digital watermarking technology and briefly explained the typical digital image watermarking algorithm, attack and application. Meanwhile, the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and bidimensional empirical mode decomposition (BEMD) method are explained, it analyzed BEMD algorithm of extreme value point detection and envelope structure, then it researched the algorithm in image processing applications. Because of slow decomposition of the BEMD, this paper proposes an improved BEMD algorithm, it presents a new method of screening calculation for the conditions of the termination. Firstly , the image region is used in the BEMD decomposition, it reduces the consumption time of decomposition; In the watermark security aspects , watermark scrambling algorithm was improved , the algorithm can also scrambling by increasing the key ways to enhance the security of the watermark. Finally, in front of the improved algorithm based on the two, this paper presents a watermarking algorithm based on BEMD. Firstly, the watermarking was scrambled and the original image was divide into sub-images, then we apply BEMD to scrambling watermarking and sub-images to obtain the corresponding intrinsic mode function (IMF), the IMF of the watermarking was embed into each sub-image of the original image to complete the watermarking embedding. The experiment results prove that this arithmetic have improve in the embedding watermark quantity and have a high robustness. At the same time, it has no visibility and high security.
