Combined with the production project of radioactive source carrier manufactured by Zhongcheng Equipment Manufacturing Company, the article concerns radioactive source which is the special dangerous material commonly used in the oilfield well logging operation. In view of the potential safety hazards exist in the transportation, the company has developed radioactive source carrier especially for radioactive source transportation. By using the inside load device and secondary shield tank which can effectively reduce the radioactive strength to the outside truck, radioactive source carrier is capable of ensure the operator's safety during the transportation. Through further comparison between theoretical calculation and actual production, the design and analysis result is coincided with the actual condition.The article contains the research background of radioactive source carrier and technological development of the same models as radioactive source carrier at home and abroad, which explain the necessary and significance of this project. Based on the introduction to the safety requirements of using radioactive source and truck in the oilfield, the article discussed about the general process of radioactive source carrier developed by the company. Firstly, it introduced the overall structure characteristics of radioactive source carrier and analyzed the interrelationship between overall structure and other spare parts. Secondly, it introduced the overall design proposal, overall layout, cabin layout, radioactive source monitor system design, the research method and significance of the special devices in the cabin, such as instrumentation compartment, three degree of freedom transportation basket, hydraulic mechanical manipulator and hydraulic system proposal, which fulfill reasonable configuration of overall device performance and parameters.In the process of researching radioactive source carrier, the company strengthened the design and execution of technological proposal to ensure the research success. From design to prototype test, through repeatedly prove, the final design proposal has been approved. According to the design proposal, the drawings, technologies and other technical documents have been designed and verified in line with relevant procedures. In order to control the process, the vital technologies, compile technological card, quality track card and operation manual, etc. have been confirmed. As for the manufacturing technology of spare parts, in view of drawings, spare parts structure, function and performance, company's manufacturing capability, the company compiled detailed processing technology for each spare parts. Furthermore, the company established multiple quality control points in the manufacturing process, and formed a complete quality system for manufacturing and production quality of the project.According to the actual condition of radioactive source carrier, the company worked out overall test requirements, which will test the overall performance for the truck, including running test, waterproof test, and mechanical manipulator test, no-load test, overload 10% dynamic load test, constant working test, seal test, as well as shield device protection performance test for driver's seat, cabin external surface and 2m away from the cabin through radioactive strength meter. It also tested the outward radioactive strength of each secondary shield tank in the radioactive source carrier. Through heavy load road test under the bad condition of oilfield, the lifting mechanism, rotating mechanism and hydraulic system are in good condition. The reliability and stability of radioactive source carrier has gone through the oilfield special environment test, which prove the truck fairly meets the design and operation requirements.After being theoretically designed and actually manufactured, on the basis of meeting design requirements and operation performance, the radioactive source carrier has been optimized, by which enriched the special automobile series. According to the actual productivity in the past two years, annual revenue has reached 8million RMB above, which brought the company huge economic interest and sustainable development of research and development capability of Zhongcheng Equipment Manufacturing Company.
