Fingerprint Image Division Technology Algorithm Research

Fingerprint segmentation pre-processing in fingerprint recognition is a very important key step, and if the algorithm is good or bad can directly affect the quality of fingerprint identification system.This article discusses several typical fingerprint segmentation algorithm, based on the variance of gray-scale fingerprint segmentation, pattern-based fingerprint segmentation, based on the gray-scale variance and pattern of the fingerprint segmentation, based on the gray-scale variance and pattern of the fingerprint segmentation as well as the adaptive threshold segmentation algorithm iteration. Adaptive Iterative threshold segmentation method is based on the threshold of a regional division of processing technology, grayscale fingerprint image is divided into two or more of such interval or intervals ranging from gray-scale range, it is mainly the use of images to extract the goal of object and background differences in gray, select an appropriate threshold to determine the image through each pixel of the characteristics of a property whether or not to meet the threshold requirements to define the image pixels belonging to the target area or you background area is changed, resulting in binary image, its objects and background have a stronger contrast is particularly useful features of the partition. The benefits of this algorithm is to determine through experience rather than a fixed threshold, but to be divided according to specific characteristics of fingerprint images to determine the dynamic threshold, which can achieve a good segmentation.This paper mostly reseach the iterative threshold method.At last,we estimate the result of the experiment.
