Spread spectrum technique for underwater acoustic communication is one of the hot technologies which were on study at present. This paper, firstly, introduced the background and significance of spread spectrum communication, and analyzed the current application requirements and the research status of the world. Under this basis, it made a detailed derivation basing on the principle of direct sequence spread spectrum communication technology, compared the performance of several general ways of spread spectrum. Through the computer simulation, it proves the feasibility of the experiment theoretically by analyzing the bit error rate in different SNR. It showed that the direct sequence spread spectrum have a high performance for anti-noise and anti-fading.OMAP processor is one of the widely used dual-core processors at present. This paper structures a communication platform for underwater acoustic data transmission, of which the system core is OMAP3530. The thesis talks over the communication mechanism of the two cores and discusses the communication methods between them, such as Mailbox communication method and shared memory method. By giving attention to the advantages of the two cores, the platform assigned the business managements to the ARM core while the data processing to DSP core. It realized the data transmission with using the C6run tool and the embedded Linux as the operating system, also completed the joint operation and realized the data transmissionOn Vc++6.0 software development platform, this paper realized the system communication software in Linux operating system by using the cross compiling debugging tools. It obtained the experimental data through the pool experiment. The result of data analysis shows that the spread spectrum communication system has a strong anti-jamming, anti-multipath performance in low SNR conditions. It proved that the transmission rate could up to 28bps with the error rate lower than 10-5, this simplex data communication ensures a reliable transmission of information at a low error rate.
