With the ability to enhance human space exploration, space defense technology have become the subject of increasing concern for space-faring nations, and as an important indicator to measure the strength of national defense. The space infrared target detection and trace have always been an indispensable part of defense. Because acquisition of real space infrared image is difficulty, which takes a long time and costs high, the detected methods of space target infrared can not evaluate the performance. Photo-realistic image synthesis of dynamic flying scene of artificial satellites and space map are really new challenging tasks for the researchers of computer graphics, which are also the important tasks for space simulation.First of all, this paper proposed a method of space image generation for infrared small target based on visual simulation software of Vega and 3D model software of Creator. Using visual catalog of bright stars to add the stars as background stars, the space infrared images are generated based on the theory of thermal balance and applied to space trace; secondly, the paper introduced the basic principle of target trace, analyzed Kalman filter to linear target trace. In fact, the space targets are far from the sensor to detect light serious decay, the target was observed with certain mobility, it is difficult to achieve satisfactory results based on the extended Kalman filter to trace at this time. Meanwhile, for multi-dimensional state's trace system, extended Kalman filter Jacobian matrix is complex and time-consuming. The paper introduced particle filter trace algorithm in order to solve various problems, trace space infrared target in the scene effectively. Compared with the extended Kalman filter, experiment found that particle filter is excellent trace performance in the strongly nonlinear mobility cases; Finally, the resampling step of particle filter is researched in depth; The numbers of particles are threshold switching as an effective model. Respectively, systems used the advantages of the two classic combinations, including residual resampling and system resampling, which are as an adaptive resampling algorithm. Experimental results show that the proposed resampling algorithm improved trace accuracy in time and better than classical resampling, which improve the space efficiency of infrared target trace and stability effectively.
