Subdivision surfaces is an important branch of computer graphics, because the rules of the method is simple, efficient and effective modeling, in the CAD and animation modeling has a wide range of applications, the idea of subdivision surface is use an iterative method to the initial mesh, the mesh continue to generate new points, new points and the old points form a new control mesh, new mesh will further approximate the ideal model, the mesh will be a smooth solid model when the take this approach to limit. This method is easy to definite, especially to complex topology of the model is more effective. In this paper, we use LOOP subdivision surfaces as our research object, to further enhance the ability of LOOP subdivision modeling and adaptation range. This article describes the knowledge of the common curve and surface and the frequently used subdivision method, first proposed a subdivision method based on progressive interpolation LOOP subdivision, which will be apply interpolation thinking to the LOOP subdivision, we will elaborate the idea of our subdivision method, prove the convergence of the method, the new point of generation rules and the geometric rules in the case of open applications. The basic idea of this algorithm is: given the initial mesh, while retaining the original vertices, based on the repeated insertion of new points, generate a new control mesh, the new mesh through all the vertices of the initial mesh, so that can keep the original sharp features of the original mesh, while the ideal shape to achieve results. Because the generation of new points with the point only to vertices of the relevant clinical domain, is a local method, can be very easy to edit and modify local models, the same time, can protect the open side of the mesh points, so you can use the same approach to open and close the mesh.Because different regions of the sub-model requires a different subdivision level, to apply adaptive idea to LOOP surface subdivision, and elaborate sub-area selection method, vertices calculation and crack segment fitting method, the calculation of dihedral angle Select sub-region, by splitting the triangle to expand the selected area, to remove cracks. In this paper two methods by interpolation and adaptive surface subdivision LOOP constraints, which make the method more efficient, broader range of applications.
