The Design & Implementation Of ATM Journal And Error Processing System

In recent years, with the development of electronization and networking of commercial banks, counter transaction is replaced by ATM transaction gradually, which is becoming the main way for modern commercial banks to customer service. ATM transactions are playing more and more improtant role in the payment method of banks. However, with the number of ATM and transaction volume increase dramatically, the traditional reconciliation processes (the accountant reconciles the report by manual) have been overwhelmed and present many issues, such as low efficiency, high error rate and waste of human resources etc.Thus, in order to adapt the development of banking, reduce the difficulty of reconciliation, cut down the workload and increase the accuracy rate of reconciliation, this paper had designed and implemented an ATM automatic account reconciliation system for commercial banks in order to replace the pattern of manual reconciliation. This system is not only able to check the ATM transactions accurately and timely, but also it can verify suspicious transactions and do error processing. So this system improves the efficiency and accuracy of ATM account reconciliation. The procedure of ATM account reconciliation will become much more specialization.Because of the huge data of ATM transactions, the wide-ranging of data sources and the diversity of data format, this paper uses ETL technique to acquire the account reconciliation data which is from different data sources. The ETL technique can eliminate the data ambiguity through data extraction, data cleaning and data transaction, and it also can regulate the data format and provide high-quality and accurate data for this system. Thanks to the complex processing rules for errors of account, this paper designs an error processing for suspicious transactions by using XML configuration file model. So the rules for errors of account can be flexible configured.In this paper, B/S three-tier software architecture is adopted. First, this paper discusses the function requirements of the system, analyzes these requirements and designs ETL account reconciliation processes. Then it designs the key technologies in this system, discusses the design and implementation method in detail. Lastly it tests and evaluates this ATM journal and error processing system.Through this paper, the ATM journal and error processing system is realized. And it has been successfully run on a bank system in the account reconciliation processes. Meanwhile, it also provides a fast, efficient and practical solution for the bank in the account reconciliation management.
