As the missile guidance system becomes more and more complicated, the cost of the test is also continually increasing. The development of virtual test technology has provided a feasible approach to solve this problem. The validation of virtual system and the improvement of the tracking algorithm is becoming the most important means to evaluate and raise the performance of the weapon system. At the same time, as a hot area of current research, image tracking technology has been applied widely during the terminal guidance phase of the precision-guided missiles and other weapons. Therefore, the development of image tracking simulation system is very important.This dissertation uses existing instruments facilities (cameras, focuse controllable lens, digital image data acquisition card, scene generation system) to form a suit of image tracking simulate test system which is able to simulate the attack peocess of missile and demonstrate this virtual attack peocess. At the same time, using HIT-GPTA to support each component of the image tracking simulate test system, to make up of the simulate test system that can complete different missions.In this dissertation, the whole structure of the system design is gived, particular describes the working process of the system, the function of each module, also combined with the system hardware, makes a demand analyse for the software design. This system mainly consists of image tracking module, realtime image processing module and turntable tracking module. According to the function of the three modules, and basing the HIT-GPTA, three components which are image acquisition component, tracking and processing component, and turntable component are correspondingly developed. In the image acquisition module, based on the function of the image acquisition card, using double buffer area to acquire the realtime iamge data, the realtime acquisition, display and transmission can be acheived. In the module of tracking and processing, using partition method based on the single threshold has separated the target image with background image, using contour extraction method can extract the outline character and create the template image, according to the template matching algorithm to identify the targert. Finally, the center of the target image is provided, and the angles of the target relative to axiles of the turntable can be calculated by the mathematics connection. The tracking module of the turntable is used to receive the angle signals of each axile, to realize the target tracking.The results of laboratory simulation and the software test shows that System's hardware has good adaptability on the platform of HIT-GPTA . With their supports, the system can achieve the functions of realtime image acquisition, storage, display, transmission. Finally, the current target point can also be accurately searched, identified and located.
