Wireless Sensor Network is an integrated network which combines information gathering, processing and transmitting. The sensing nodes transmit the information to the sink node, which processes the information then transmit it to the terminal. Coverage control is a primary problem in wireless sensor networks, which reflects the quality of service on WSNs. The goal of coverage control is to deploy sensors to sense the monitored area and target object. Coverage control determined the sensing performance of wireless sensor networks. This paper focuses on the feature of a single node's finite ability in WSN and studies how to effectively schedule the nodes and make a better performance of the network. We propose two scheduling algorithm in this paper.1. An algorithm of sleep scheduling based on community structure. We use complex network model to analysis the sensing network. The community structure algorithm divides the nodes into different groups. For each group, the strategy of node scheduling is based on the number of nodes in the group.2. An algorithm of node scheduling for the weighted area. Weighted area means that the importance of each sub-area is different to the user, and the expected coverage in also different for each sub-area. We give each node a weighted coefficient based on the node's sensing area contained in the sub-area, then use the information of node's orientation to distribute each node into its corresponding subset. We keep only one subset working in a scheduling round. The two algorithms can effectively ensure the coverage and connectivity performance of the sensing network.
