As the large scale popularization of Internet, network virus became a critical factor threatening the network security. Therefore, building a proper virus spread model, analyzing the main factors of network virus propagation and thus building a comprehensive defense strategy are the basis of virus research.This study points out the advantage and disadvantage of the determinant virus spread model, and proposes a stochastic model which can characterize the virus propagation both qualitatively and quantitatively. Based on a latest static parameter branching process model, this research improves the parameters and build a dynamic parameter branching process model. This model can characterize both the qualitative trend and quantitative scale of network virus.Besides, this study proposes virus spread networks and virus spread resistances in the first time. Based on these concepts, we build a new network virus spread model, and verify that virus spread network and virus spread resistance restrain the virus spread scale and speed from macroscopic and microscopic aspects respectively. The research analyzes and classifies the networks and resistances, and model the virus spread network as two types of complex network—small world network and scale free network. The theoretical analysis and simulation experiment proves that the virus spread network restrain the virus spread scale, and virus spread resistances constrain both the scale and speed.At last, from the inspiration of the dynamic parameter branching process model, this study proposes a computer virus tracing algorithm in LAN. The experiment section provides the design and implement of the algorithm. The result qualifies the algorithm.
