Radio propagation model calibration is the premise of mobile communication network in planning and optimization,the value of an excellent propagation model is to ensure the accuracy, while saving cost in manpower, physical resource and time in the process of building a network. The current 3G/LTE business has been launched large-scalely,which put forward higher requirements for the prediction accuracy of the propagation model .To meet the needs of the actual network projects,the propagation model calibration algorithm as be one of foundation arithmetic of the wireless network planning also needs further study.As an adaptive random optimization algorithm based on population search strategy computation,Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm has excellent characteristics such as more simple design idea,more fast optimize speed, easier operation, and less control parameters, so PSO algorithm has been widely applied in function optimization and shows great potential prospect in practice.This thesis first introduced the principle and related knowledge of the radio propagation model calibration,then outlined the standard PSO algorithm and the basic thought and implementation process of several common improved PSO algorithm , and then put forward an improved PSO based on the analysis of the standard PSO.Test results through testing by benchmark functions proved that the improved PSO algorithm has better optimization performance.Then, from the optimization perspective,the determination of each coefficients in the propagation model calibration can be converted into a multi function optimization solution based on the theoretical analysis of the radio propagation model calibration and basical PSO. Furthermore, a reasonable design of fitness function and particle coding is proposed specifically, and a modified PSO algorithm is investigated extensively to improve the accuracy of path loss prediction in wireless network planning.Finally,together with wireless network planning and optimization platform and the actual CW test datas of several cities,the result of simulation and analysis shows that the algorithm is scientific,reasonable,reliable and feasible, and has higher accuracy and better business value compared to the traditional correction algorithm.
