With the development of modern electronic technology, radar face increasingly complex electromagnetic environment in modern battlefield. This paper aims to design a radar signal simulation system which can creates complex and realistic radar signal environment in order to test the complex environment of radar system performance. It can be used in practice after continuous improvement.Based on the requirements of actual project, paper established the whole system program by the layered approach to complete radar signals synthesis. The whole system is divided into five modules: the establishment of radar waveforms , analyzing and testing signal waveforms, user control interface, output signal synthesis, checking output signal. The system was completed after establishing the overall program.According to the design plan, paper established waveform database. Signal types and technical indicators were selected for user needs. The signals included in the database are conventional radar signals, the stagger pulse signals, jittering pulse signals, continuous wave modulation signals, frequency agility signals, Rayleigh distribution clutters, Weibull distribution clutters, logarithmic distribution clutters, K distribution clutters and pure noise signals. Waveform data is loaded into the waveform library by modeling these signals and using MATLAB to calculate. data in waveform database and synthetic signals are verified. Waveform data is tested by 89601 vector signal analysis software with satisfactory results.Using this human-computer interface, users can create multiple waveform sequence in which fragments can be selected on-demand. Every sequence can be sent by using a whole device. This achieved multiple emitters. By using this module, users can download waveform data and control instruments.According to the results and actual conditions, DDWS is chose to synthesize digital baseband signal. RF signal is synthesized by the method of digital baseband signal and quadrature modulation. Based on this program N6030A and E8267D are chose to complete signal synthesis. The RF signals are tested by Spectrum Analyzer.
