Rapid Prototyping (RP) application in medical is a synthesize subject consisted of rapid Prototyping technology, CT scan, the skill of dealing with the CT image, CAD technology. The development of CT image Processing and rebuilding technology of Three dimension tissue model make it easy to get the accurate human tissue model with complex contour, meanwhile, RP technology can manufacture complex, Prototype with high Precision based on three dimension CAD model. The persisting development of several technologies is the foundation of RP application in medical. It can change the traditional diagnosis, operation Programming, artificial manufacture method, so it has big potential and the Populace can benefit from it.In this thesis, the key is based in image processing technology of tissue engineering and rapid prototyping. It mainly bases in the dental CT images as the sample data to achieve a CT image preprocessing, segmentation and contour extraction, and it provides a good foundation for the rapid reconstruction of three-dimensional model. This major work involved in this thesis, as follows:(1) Based the medical spiral CT data, the required data model can be got by applications and three-dimensional reconstruction of CT image processing software Mimics to process, and stored the data as a STL format file.(2) To clear the addition of its noise, fill holes, fill surface, smooth and other treatment, we need put STL data into the software Geomagic to edit, by this way, the best three-dimensional model in order to make a model of rapid prototyping machine can be build(3) Import the optimized model data to the rapid prototyping machine that can be identified platform for model reconstruction.(4) Various types of errors that occurred when Rapid Prototyping will be analyzed. To avoid or reduce such errors, everal optimization and solutions will be proposed in this paper.This thesis will take shape fast the technical introduction tooth jaw model manufacture; it is advantageous for doctor observing morbid tooth of the patient and proposing the best therapeutic schedule. The method not only reduces the pain for the patient in this process, but provided convenience for doctor. So it has the greatly strengthened guidance to the medico and the strong using value.
