Digital home service is the "soul" of digital home equipment, which can broaden the application fields and extend the function of hardware. With the popularization in home of information technology, and the promotion of digital home technology, the market of digital home service will have to face a huge revolution. Despite of an extensive future in this market, the application of digital home service is not as good as people expected. The very reason of that is the incompatibility between various equipments clients purchase and the lack of variety of protocols suppliers could provide with. The solution at the moment is to unify home digital standard in every single community, and to accept an intelligence service supplied by only one supplier. However, there are some serious insufficiencies in this solution. To begin with, enforcing consumers to purchase uniform equipment will lead to resistance, which could result in a loss of customers'satisfaction. The second, some supplier may suspend service unilaterally as a result of high cost of development and some other reasons, and hence cause customer to lose confidence. The third, it is difficult to realize intercommunication and share between different communities. To deal with problems above, we analyzed the structure of SOA and proposed a model of service registeration and search in digital home. This model could solve the problem of multi-protocol service interaction, though with some inadequacies. Firstly, service discovery based on syntax, which brings about the problem of different functions under the same name or different names for the same function. Secondly, there is no uniform view dividing services. Thirdly, the match is not intelligent enough considering the transference and match among services depends on detailed information.Taking all above into consideration, we analyzed the ontology theory. In the first place, constructing the functional conception ontology and annotating services with function semantic could solve the problem of syntax. In the second place, using function decomposition tree to describe functional composition of combination service and reconstructing BPEL could intelligentize the match among services. Based on this theory, we proposed the system of service registeration and search in digital home here. On the one hand, we provide searching, choosing and transference of service with semantic foundation through extending WSDL and UDDI in terms of semantic and the system could reason with relevant knowledge of service in the syntactic level, so we find the key to the problem mentioned before: service with the same name has different functions or the same function with different names. On the other hand, by extending BPEL and adding semantic to services, the system could render exact combination of services through more intelligent semantic match and thus raise customers'satisfaction. We design and develop platform of registration and searching of services based on function ontology in digital home. The realization of this not only allows users to choose appliances at home and also accurately picks one or more services with semantic foundation while taking customers'needs for different functions into consideration at the same time. Not to mention it could add and update services according to the change of needs voluntarily. What's more, the system is able to recommend the combination of services based on function decomposition tree of customers'needs and construct a more personalized services to meet unique needs.
