Research And Application On Key Techniques Of Image Sequences Based Modeling

Image sequences based modeling is a new technique that produced from computer visionand computer graphics communities. Unlike traditional geometry based modeling, it is anuncomplicated and real-time 3D model reconstructing method which will be used in wides areas.After the analysis to several methods of image sequences based modeling, this paper discussessome key issues about this technique as follows:First of all, based on the analysis to the features of some existing methods for imagesequences based modeling, the Stereo vision method is chosen to reconstruct the 3D model ofobject. Meanwhile, the multi-view images capture system composed by a fixed camera and aturn-table is established for the requirement of this project, and the camera calibration methodbased on a planar pattern is also introduced in this paper. In the next place, This paper proposes anovel IMVS(Improved Multi-View Stereopsis) algorithm that based on the existing Stereo visionreconstruction method with texture mapping to obtain a photo-realistic 3D models. Finally, thispaper implements a whole multi-view Stereopsis 3D reconstruction system by software, and liststhree different applications to validate the feasibility and availability for the modeling system.Since the aforementioned 3D reconstruction system only requires some simple equipmentsand a small amount of runtime to obtain good performance and robustness of the reconstruction,it will have a high theoretical significance and wide application prospects.
