Nowadays, many equipment management systems face the problem of different classificatory equipments, diversified geography, many involved participants, diversified organizations, heterogeneous resources, and large workload. With the extensive application of Internet and Web technology, the equipment management informationization is one of the important directions of the modem equipment management. More and more enterprises are urgent to establish their own systems with equipment management informationization for solving the problem of traditional equipment management systems and improve efficiency.J2EE technology specification supplies a way to design, develop, and deploy applications based on component technology. The application of web technologies based on J2EE provides the powerfully technological support for constructing the distributed equipment management system. MVC design pattern makes enterprise applications divide into three levels by Model, Controller and View clearly. The every module deals with their own task, and is unattached, improves agility and the value of reuse. Struts is the application framework which based on J2EE platform and MVC design pattern. It eases the burden of constructing multi-layer web applications, provides reusable software architecture, and reduces the time of developing web applications based on MVC design model. Hibernate is one of the most popular lightweight persistent framework. It makes use of the mapping framework of Hibernate to deal with logic of the persistence layer.This paper designs and implements the college equipment management system based on J2EE framework to solve the problem of traditional equipment management systems. The system follows the criterion of the software development strictly; the development also follows the method of the Software Engineering (SE). On the base of deeply analysis of the function requirement and non-function requirement of the system, firstly, this paper designs overall system architecture. The system based on J2EE development platform, Struts and Hibernate architecture, make sure platform security,application security and data security. Secondly, the system is divided into four modules based on functional requirement analysis of the system.They are user management module, equipment management module, charge management module and online booking management module. The function points of every module is also defined. In the following design, modeling every modules and database design are done. In the end of the paper, a prototype system is implemented based on the system design, and the function of every module is also done. The future work is pointed out.The equipment management system can improve the overall capacity of equipment management, reduce costs, reasonably arrange for staffs and resource, and improve efficiency. The enterprise can achieve the goal of equipment management informationization and improve market competitiveness.
