In recent years, video surveillance system attach great importance to academe. Moving target detection and tracking technology is the key to video surveillance systems, become a hot spots of modern monitoring system. Moving target detection uses a certain technology to detect and extract outline whice is clear and complete, in order to faciliate subsequent object tracking, recognition, and so on, therefore Moving target detection play a decisive role to subsequent steps. Target Tracking moving is a combination of single or multiple properties and features which track moving objects in the image, tracking the moving target which combine closely digital image processing and pattern recognition. Many scholars at home and abroad is committed. Now, many scholars are trying to improve that How to more effectively detect and track movement in real-time target.This thesis the technology which is related to the moving target detection and tracking, the main research contents of the thesis are:(1) This thesis summarizes resreach on target detection and introduces classic method of target detection. focus on the optical flow method, frame difference, background subtraction method. Analyze the deficiency of detection technology now.(2) The author Propose an efficient and fast moving target detection algorithm for the algorithm complexity of this problem, so that the real-time of moving object detection is improved, and introduces in the detection of a dynamic threshold algorithm that can automatically adapt to changing light, to more effectively detect moving targets.(3) Review the research work of moving target tracking technical, this thesis introduces the classification of moving object tracking technology; discusses on Camshift algorithm in detail, and introduces the advantages and disadvantages of this method. This thesis presents an improved moving targets tracking method based on Camshift algorithm that combined with color and motion information, this algorithm consider fully the change of target color and object tracking under occlusion.
