Sign language is the deaf-dumb persons' main method to communicate and study. Many country and area researched sign language as a kind of linguistics, and they receive some fruit. In computer's field, according to sign language researchers' achievements, researchers transplanted the sign language express to computer interface realizing human-computer interaction , which afforded a more convenient and more dependable environment about study and work to deaf-dumb persons and made them join social activities better.Sign language animation synthesis system emerged on the above desire. At present, Chinese sign language animation synthesis system is getting more perfectly; it can provide a convenient and efficient approach of imformatization to good-hearing people and deaf-dumb people. In the 2008 Olympic Games and 2010 EXPO, Chinese sign language animation synthesis system was exhibited and used successfully , which showed a good wish that Chinese people all jointed country's great event and realized the social harmonious .However, Chinese sign language is Chinese standard sign language's for short. Because of history, religious and culture's affection, China's different area has dialect sign language. There are difference and connection between dialect sign language and Chinese sign language. We cannot ignore dialect sign language's importance; it affects local deaf people's life widely in a long term. To realize deaf people's communication in various areas, dialect sign language animation synthesis system is a good choice.Firstly, this paper improved the naturalness of animation's motion in Chinese sign language animation synthesis system. It's known that human's gesture movement is made of different elements according to sign language linguistics, so we decomposed gesture data further based on Chinese sign language animation synthesis system. At last we could obtain smaller and motion units of similar motion state, and then made further efforts to utilize them.This paper separated shoulder, wrist, and elbow joint data of gesture data from hand shape's finger joint data first, and then divided hand shape's data into some section using dynamic programming method; it received some basic motion units making every hand shape state of motion units similar. These motion units were disposed by time warping and dynamic clustering; the results were hand shape categories. At last, this paper analyzed Shanghai sign language and Chinese standard sign language's difference and sameness, synthesized new Shanghai sign language gesture data according to the above methods and updated quondam Chinese standard sign language database to receive dialect sign language database. It could output Shanghai sign language gesture by the same sign language animation system.
