With the popularity of the network, universities have good network infrastructure conditions, but the existing information resources can not meet the increasing demand of teachers and students. Therefore, how to share resources has become an important part of network building. Typically, the campus network connect with Internet, many users to get the resources they need through the Internet. With the increase of university students this years, the bandwidth demand for exports has increased dramatically, resulting in the campus network operating costs soared. In this case, it is essential to research and design other file sharing method.In recent years, Peer-to-Peer (called P2P) has been a rapid development. It can deploy powerful and large-scale distributed applications with low cost. In P2P systems, every node is the resource provider also resource extraction. Compared with the traditional mode, it has lots of incomparable superiorities, such as: non-centralization, expansibility, robustness, high performance and high security.First of all, this paper has analyzed the characteristics of P2P technology, summarized three kind of P2P models and each kind of domain applications and analyzed the flaw and insufficiency of existing P2P application, make a idea of p2p application development on jxta platform; The paper extended a P2P application frame model-CMS based on JXTA, and then developed the design and implementation of file sharing system, and describe the system's functions; Finally, the paper described system realization according to the function module, the main functions include file sharing, file search, file download, file reservation and auto update.Through the research, this paper extends a P2P application frame model based on JXTA, and develops a network file sharing system using the model successfully. This system uses P2P file sharing model, therefore, the system remove the dependence of the center server and will not lead whole network failture because of some mechanical, it has also made full use of the existing network resources and save the cost.
