Information security is becoming more and more important in the highly informationalized modern society. Biometric identification has many advantages compared to traditional identification methods. Cancelable palmprint identification technology can effectively protect user's biological characteristics, improve identification accuracy, and have wide development space as a new technology in biometric identification field. The algorithm of cancelable palmprint identification is maked to be reusable software component and integrated to be a system which contains all the identification algorithm. It is significant to take the identification theory to practical application.Paper studies the software component development in the cancelable palmprint identification field by analyzing all kinds of method on cancelable palmprint identification field and combining it with software component technology.The detail works are as following:1) The advantages of software development based on component are analyzed and summarized, then the advantages of that used in the cancelable palmprint identification field are expounded. Moreover, some classical methods of feature extraction and several relatively new feature extraction methods are summarized in the cancelable palmprint field. Then several methods of feature extraction which frequently used and several methods of generating random numbers are introduced.2) The software platform is designed based on software component of cancelable palmprint identification field and it is come from three levels including the biometric application, BioAPI framework and biometric services-providing according to the level-structure which is suggest in BioAPI.■The system frame of cancelable palmprint identification field is presented on the BioAPI framework level, which can be used by different cancelable palmprint identification technology.■On the level of biometric service-providing, a novel algorithm for software component design with different granularity is presented, which is used for designing the software component of cancelable palmprint identification field and many kinds of identification algorithm are carried out. What is more, the component is also described by XML language in order to be effective used by different organizations and individuals. When the component is described, a novel method is presented on three fects of basic information, function information and nonfunction information and the details of those fects are also given in this paper. At last, the component composition is described through the description of component connection by XML.■On the level of biometric application, a system of cancelable palmprint identification using the software component of cancelalbe palmprint identification is designed according to the frame of cancelable palmprint identification field. And it can connect different algorithm to be an integrated cancelable palmprint identification system.
