Design And Implementation Of The Graduation Thesis Full-text Retrieval System With Lucene

Nowadays, with the improvement of the university network environment and the continuous optimization of the library automation conditions, many university libraries have been or are setting about the construction of characteristic database. Among them, the construction of the students' graduation thesis is an important job of library. Generally speaking, the students' graduation thesis pays much attention to the combination of the professional construction and local characteristics. Meanwhile, as historical data resources and information, it can also provide important reference for teachers' and students' future graduation design work. Therefore, it's a very valuable resources material. The construction of the characteristic database must rely on certain software platform. For most libraries, this software platform needs to be realized by buying products. But it generally cannot be easily changed once chosen. Thus, it's a very important job for each library to develop an independent and stable retrieval system, which has flexible configuration and high safety.Full-text retrieval is a computer index program by scanning each word in the articles. The retrieval can build an index for every word of the document, indicating the frequency and position of the word appeared. The retrieval procedure searches according to the index established beforehand when a user inquires, and then makes a result feedback to the user.This paper analyzed the research of the area of current information retrieval and application status. It also studied the characteristics, main algorithm, the related theory, the development tendency and the hot spot technology of the full-text retrieval system. In addition, it analyzed the structure of the system and main function modules of the popular Lucene, resolved main index algorithm, search algorithms and the principle of sorting algorithm about Lucene. At the same time, combined with the reality of the construction of the graduation thesis library, we analyzed and designed a full-text retrieval system for graduation thesis, which was based on Lucene. This system realized the remote submitting papers, full-text retrieval functions and so on. It also simplified the process of collecting of students' graduation thesis for the library staff so that it raised the working efficiency. Through the retrieval performance test and application experiment, we concluded the characteristics of the system and verified it, it achieved the application standard of the library full-text retrieval system.
