On Unix Platforms Database Query Development Tools (web-dtools), Design And Implementation

The UNIX system that based on security and stability almost dominate the world in the enterprise server operating systems, such as finance, telecommunications, government and other departments. The culture of UNIX philosophy is Simple, efficient and safe, but also, the mode of operation which characterized by the command line and character interface increased the threshold for the operator. The client is easy to accept Web which based on hypertext protocol, CGI interface, graphical and easy way to navigate popular queries. For the server, the data query is frequent and important functions. The so-called Web-DTools is one interface function library for the query, with writing a few sentences, so immediately generate Web interactive query dynamic pages of table data.The purpose of this study is to design a software tool to achieve database queries through the Web dynamically which set up in the UNIX platform. The idea of this paper is that through the table schema describe script, then directly generate CGI (Common Gateway Interface) of the C language source code, and then compiled CGI, to achieve dynamic access of database. This article focuses on the three aspects which include script translation, Web interface, and database interface to analysis and design, and uses example to illustrate the specific implementation.
