Wireless sensor network is composed of a large of sensor nodes which are randomly deployed in an Ad hoc way. Such networks have applications in battlefield, environment monitoring, medical care and space exploration. However, with the range of the use of wireless sensor network is expanded, the security problems have become increasingly prominent. Because of the limitation of sensor network node resources, current security mechanism can not be well used in wireless sensor network. Therefore, the security problems become the research hotspot. Key management is the basis of security research in wireless sensor network, and it is great significant to resolve the key management problems in wireless sensor network.Firstly, in the thesis, the architecture, characteristics and applications are introduced, and combining the characteristics of wireless sensor network the security requirements are proposed; the various threats that wireless sensor network are confronted are analyzed, and the appropriate precautions are given out; the key technology and key management system of wireless sensor network is introduced.Secondly, the performance indicators and classification of key management scheme for wireless sensor network is introduced; in the distributed key management scheme, E-G scheme and q-composite scheme are described, their performance is also analyzed in detail; in the layered key management scheme, LEAP key management scheme and distributed management scheme based on group key are also described, and the strongpoint and shortcomings of every scheme are summarized. Finally, with regard to the shortcomings of distribution schemes, a Key Management Scheme based on Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem and Hash (KMSEH) is proposed, the scheme provides security for the key parameters integrating Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem and Hash function. The performance of KMSEH is analyzed in detail, and the results show that KMSEH scheme is better than E-G scheme and q-composite scheme on the connectivity and security performance.
