This thesis studies the input-output finite-time stability (IO-FTS) of singu-lar systems. Both continuous singular systems and discrete singular systems are discussed. Based on the theories of Lyapunov function, linear matrix inequality and linear differential matrix inequality, sufficient conditions guranteeing IO-FTS are provided for both two cases. Then input-output finite-time stabilization problems of singular systems are studied, with state feedback controllers provided. This paper includes the following two parts:(Ⅰ) Input-output finite-time stability of continuous singular systems. In this part, problems of IO-FTS and stabilizing controllers are investigated for continous singular systems. A general definition of IO-FTS is proposed. Sufficient conditions of IO-FTS are given in terms of linear differential matrix inequalities. As for the stabilization problem, a state feedback controller is designed. All results above are extended to uncertain continuous singular systems.(Ⅱ) Input-output finite-time stability of discrete singular systems. In this part, problems of IO-FTS and stabilizing controllers are considered for discrete-time case. Sufficient conditions of IO-FTS are provided via linear matrix inequalities. Then the corresponding stabilization problem is studied, and a desired state feedback controller is designed.
