Large-scale paiting timely technical research based on programmable GPU has attracted many scholars'attention, and it has been widely deployed in the visual fields. At present the real-time rendering large-scale virtual scene has been mostly completed on the base of CPU, but the main duty of CPU are handling and transporting the internal data, rather than dedicating the graphics processors; thus it bottlenecks the data transportation between CPU and video card when rendering graphics on a large scale. Thereby this essay has attached great theoretical significance and practical application value in the field of real-time rendering based on the large-scale virtual scene GPU.In this article, it initially makes a systematic description on the current researching status on real-time rendering of Large-scale virtual environment, and then elaborates the existing domestic and foreign research and development on the GPU, thus focuses of this paper below:1. It has been studied on the operating principle of programmable graphics rendering pipeline and analyzed the merit and demerit of programmable graphics hardware, then made an analysis on the principle of GPU acceleration.and find out the CPU and GPU rendering scene where bottlenecks may exist,And were presented at the vertex shader and pixel shader approach to solve the bottleneck.Besides, a detailed exploration on the terrain rendering technology has been conducted.2. The paper has made an intensive analysis on LOD technology and formed a quadtree structure,GPU-based implementation of dynamic LOD technology, and on this basis to achieve a visibility culling and triangulation, to map out the terrain of the grid map.3. Dynamic terrain texture synthesis technology has been carried out,and flaws in dynamic terrain texture provides rendering speed.Texture have been enhanced, which delivers a vivider performance for the texture synthesis.4. Grid map the terrain on the basis of texture mapping to simulate the real terrain.This paper has accomplished the real-time rendering effect based on GPU Large-scale terrain and enhanced the simulation effect by applying dynamic LOD technique together with texture synthesis technique which made it more realistic. Finally, the performance of the experimental simulation is inspiriting.
