In the process of HUD(Head Up Display) photography, due to vibration or shaking of the objects taken, it caused the output of image sequences unsteady and brought the difficulty in the HUD images' following analysis and research. Therefore, this paper designed and developed a HUD image vibration detecting system which could provide an objective basis for the HUD application and have great significance on the stability of target detection, image stabilization and dynamic monitoring.Through studying the development of image vibration detecting technology at home and abroad, and analyzing the reasons of image vibration, the paper put forward the key issues in image detecting technology. By analyzing and desiging the HUD image vibration detecting system module and framework, the detection model was established. The paper compared the different denoising algorithms and threshold segmentation algorithms, and adopted Otsu algorithms to achieve the HUD image segmentation. Comparing different movement estimate algorithms, and aiming at the characteristic of HUD images, the paper proposed a motion estimation algorithm based on improved features extraction. The algorithm was adopted by HUD image vibration detecting system software which was developed in this paper. The software could play the HUD image taken by high-speed camera, detected the HUD images' vibration and recorded the vibratory magnitude. Finally, according to the evaluation index based on vibration detecting technology, the results obtained from experimenting on HUD images using the designed system, demonstrated that the designed system software could meet the HUD image vibration detecting needs.
