University Counselors system plays as one of the major roles in the Students work of higher education in China. In recent years, the group construction of universities'counselors has been one of most key concerns of the CPC Central Committee, Ministry of Education and the University Theoretical Circles. The University Counselors system has a history since Professor Jiang Nanxiang, the president of Tsinghua University firstly set political counselor in 1953. After years of evolution, counselors have become the backbone of carrying out the ideological and political education among college students, and the organizers, practitioners and mentors of daily ideological and political education and management works in universities. Strengthening counselors'team building plays an important role in the works of student management. It directly affects the quality of the ideological education of college students, and also related to the students'success and the quality of national higher education.At present, the team building of university counselors has got some achievements. Such as the raised selection criteria of counselor team, the increased intensity of training. However, some problems still exist. Such as the overall quality of the counselor team is not high enough, routine work takes a lot of energy, lower social identity of occupation, imperfect Evaluation System and High mobility.The team building of counselors is facing new challenges under the new situations.
