With the development of society, the revolution of new technology improves toincrease the human's knowledge. The total amount of knowledge is increasing speedy.In order to make students adapt themselves to the future world, it's indispensible forthem to have the autonomous learning ability. This paper wants to investigate thepresent situation of the senior middle school of students' English autonomous learningability through self-designed questionnaire and classroom observation. According tothe data which has received, we will conclude the issues of cultivating high students'autonomous learning ability, and make analysis about the reasons.The paper can be divided into seven parts. The first part contains researchbackground, research significance, research summary and research contents. Thesecond part is the research summary of the senior middle school of students'autonomous learning ability. The third part is the design of the present situation aboutthe senior middle school of students' autonomous learning ability. The fourth part isthe design of the classroom observation about the senior middle school of students'autonomous learning ability. The fifth part makes analysis about the reasons. The sixthpart concludes the issues of cultivating high students' autonomous learning ability. Thelast part is conclusion.The main conclusions of the questionnaire are as follows:The senior middle schools of students' autonomous learning ability in Liaoyangare in a general level, which needs to be further improved.The senior middle schools of students' autonomous learning ability of Liaoyangin all dimensions are in a general level, which needs to be further improved.There are no significant gender differences about the senior middle schools ofstudents' autonomous learning ability. There is no significant different of school levels about the senior middle schoolsof students' autonomous learning ability.There is significant different of school grades about the senior middle schools ofstudents' autonomous learning ability. Along with the higher grade, autonomouslearning ability becomes stronger.The main conclusions of the classroom observation are as follows:In the learning motivation training,teachers don't concentrate their teaching onthe students. Teachers don't help students form self efficacy, which makes studentshave low ability.In the learning content training,lots of teachers help students choose the Englishexercise books because of the time press. So teachers don't cultivate students' ability inthis respect.In the learning time training, students usually do English homework using somepart time, while teachers don't give students proper guidance for this kind ofphenomena. Actually, Students have no plan in the English learning process.In the learning method training, teachers don't give the right guidance to thestudents in understanding, review and preview of the process according to theircharacteristics.In the learning process training, students lack of their concentration because of thetedious teaching.In the learning result training, lots of teachers put more emphasis on students'summary, but lots of students don't realize the importance of summary, they writesummary in order to accomplish the task.In the learning environment training, school facilities are perfect, but theutilization rate is not high. Students will ask the other students for help when they arein trouble.According to the data which has received, we will conclude the issues ofcultivating high students' autonomous learning ability, and make analysis about thereasons.
