| This research involves a large amount of analysis of related information and two surveys among teachers and students of Shanxi's average colleges on the present situation to spread badminton in average colleges of Shanxi province and its countermeasures. The writer choose teachers and students from15different types of colleges as the objects of the surveys, and according to the actual situation do research on the present situation of acceptance and participation in badminton, consumption levels and teaching faculty, curriculum design, sports facilities, and so on, by making use of related previous research, questionnaire surveys, expert interviews, statistical analysis and other useful methods. And based on the above, this paper tries to find out the main restrictions on the popularity of badminton at universities in our province and put forward some practicable countermeasures.This paper is meant to reflect the present situation of badminton objectively and offer some helpful reference to the development of badminton at average colleges in Shanxi province.The conclusions of this investigation are as following:(1) In Shaanxi Province, college students have some knowledge of badminton, their access to this knowledge is diverse.51%of the students have strong interest in badminton, the ones who tend to take it as a life-long physical exercise account for72%.(2) Badminton teachers are getting younger and younger, and there is an uneven ratio of male and female teachers, male teachers account for83%, badminton professional teachers account for68%, mainly in the instructor-based titles, they are weak in scientific research, and have less opportunities of post-job training.(3) The university authorities pay much more attention to spread wide badminton, but there are too many students to be trained each time, and teaching process lasts only for one semester. Some students view differently on this teaching arrangement.(4) During the recent years, colleges in Shaanxi Province invest more in the sports facility, the construction of stadiums is increasing in scale and equipments, however, compared to the significantly increasing students, it still seems inadequate.(5) college students in Shaanxi Province participate actively in the badminton training,31.5%of the students involve in badminton8times per month or even more, while36.5%of students participate in this exercise for more than1hour each time, which would have a deep impact on the formation of a life-long Sports concept.(6) The main consumption of college students who engage in badminton exercise lies in the badminton rackets, badmintons, rent for playfield, these three areas,41%of students buy their own badmintons for exercise.42%of them spend less than400yuan on badminton rackets and their annual consumption on badminton is between100and200yuan.(7)46%of average colleges in Shaanxi Province have set up their school badminton team; They have badminton associations or clubs which are able to integrate this extracurricular sports into their cultural activities on campus. These schools have organized their campus badminton competitions each year to enrich cultural life. But there are only47%of schools which ever participated in the provincial competition, still little competitions between schools.This paper is to analysis the current situation and kinds of restrictions on the development of badminton at the universities in Shanxi province, and put forward some solutions and countermeasures accordingly. |
