| With the development of our society and the improvement of our material life quality, people paid more attention on the design of packing. One important concept in the packing design is 'people first'. Not only the able-bodies person, but also the special part should be considered. The visual obstacle group, as one of the special part, who got a weak sight even disable, always get in trouble without the help of eyes help them getting information printed on the packing. Hence, the concept of 'universal design' was put forward in the paper. We try to fix up the problem about the design of packing which could satisfy the visual obstacle group.Survey on the visual obstacle group had been achieved. The concept of universal design had been defined and its meaning was announced in this paper. Current situation at home and abroad of universal design was analyzed, and its drawbacks were pointed out. Based on the ergonomics, cognitive psychology and related theoretical basis, the physiological and psychological characteristics of the visual obstacle group were analyzed. Combined with the product design, the demands of those people in packaging have been explored in this paper. Moreover, it summarized the principle and approach of the universal design. Meanwhile, combined the use of commodity packaging characteristics, the universal design for the visual obstacle group was studied. Finally, the model of detail packing project was built and the feasibility of this model has also been proved in this paper.In a word, the content that using of universal design made the visual obstacle group more convenience as normal people when they use the packaging independently is the important innovations in this paper. The design was faced all the people include the special part. Those people have been taken seriously and they will feel satisfied with the design. In addition, more resources could be saved and a harmonious society without inequality will be constructed. |
