With the development of new curriculum innovation, increasingly importance has been attached to pupuils'independent development, especially in class management. The ultimate goal of class management is self-management, which is the ultimate goal of education. As a model of student participation in class management, the monitor on duty system has been widely used by classroom teachers. But does it works? What are the problems? And how to improve? So, a survey research on the monitor on duty system has important practical significance.Questionnaires, interview were used in the study. Under the guidance of the expert, a thorough investigation on the monitor on duty system of TaiZhou Experimental primary school has been carried out through questionnaires to teachers and students. The objects of the investigation refer to 60 teachers, 480 students in Taizhou Experimental primary school, getting 52 copies of teachers'questionnaires and 472 copies of students'.The whole paper is divided into three parts. The first chapter introduces the current situation and the reason why the author chooses this topic. The research significance is clarified. Research methods are introduced in this paper too.In the second parts, the author analyze the result of questionnaires and interview in seven aspects: the implementation status of the monitor on duty system, the monitor on duty system status within the class, the head teacher understanding of the system, the head teacher's guidance of class management, motivation for students to participate in the management status, monitor on duty management status, class members and the monitor on duty with the status quo.In the third part, the authors try to put forward ideas to solve the problem form two aspects: school and head teacher. Schools should do: change their ideas, focus on building professional teacher team; call classroom teachers participate in classroom management to form a multi-force; offers a variety of teacher training platform for the management of teacher professional development; establish a sound supervision and evaluation mechanism, effectively promote teacher work. Teacher side will have to do: attention to classroom management, improve the management mechanism bumban;clear management responsibilities, correct management of motivation and attitude; clear managements principles, focus on management guidance; build a good class atmosphere, a healthy and harmonious atmosphere.
