Non—finite Verb is a very important grammatical item which appears in the second term of Grade Two in senior high schools. The content of Non—finite Verbs is too abstract and varied, and the formation of it is also very complex,so it becomes the difficulties of students' learning and teachers' teaching. Therefore, because of learning and teaching difficulties of Non—finite Verbs, a series of actions, such as distributing questionnaires, observing and reflecting after teaching have been taken in order to make good preparations for the solution of this problem.. And it is hoped that it will promote the effective teaching of it in the future.Firstly, by theoretical study and the analysis of Non—finite Verbs, this study is to discover where the difficulties of knowledge points lie. Secondly, this study wants to understand the students'difficulties in terms of understanding it, doing exercises and using the theory by means of surveys and interviews to the main body of learning --- students. In addition to that, the author also interviews some teachers and distributes questionnaires among them in order to get a clear idea about the difficult points when teachers try to input the notion of it into students, design teaching procedures, explain knowledge, select examples, deal with exercises, etc.Finally, combined with the research results, this thesis collects and analyzes the data collected and designs a series of teaching strategies to deal with the problem. The solo purpose of all these efforts is to find out the difficulties existing with the learning and teaching of non-finite verbs so that effective strategies can be adopted in actual teaching.At the end of the paper, the author points out the changes in knowledge presentation and study methods of Non—finite Verb under the background of the new curriculum reform, students'English proficiencies, and personal qualities after the acquisition of Non—finite Verb, and teachers in the areas of teaching concepts, as well as teaching methods. Meanwhile, the author also makes some reflections on the future teaching.
