| Writing skills seem to have been ignored in senior high school English classes for a long time and thus the teaching of English writing has become the weakest link. But actually, Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) regards writing as an important skill to achieve the communicative purpose and that writing shouldn't be limited to the oral English. Only by learning to command various wringing styles in written English, can the successful language learner write about different subject matters in his own style and feature.With the reform of curriculum being carried out and the demand for comprehensive talents being raised, the importance of writing in English language is out of doubt. However, such a problem can never be solved under the practice of the traditional writing approach.In order to verify the feasibility of Process-genre Writing Approach in high school teaching, this thesis is to apply this compromise method to writing teaching in high school classrooms. Firstly, based on the teaching experience, the author discovered the problem lying in the teaching. And then, in order to solve it, the thesis is to discuss the three approaches available in teaching writing respectively, and find that all of them have their own weaknesses and strengths. Therefore, this compromise method is put forward to meet the real demand. By elaborating the theoretical foundation of the Process-genre Writing Approach, its advantages, main phases and features are mainly focused on. Afterwards, the author adopted the Process-genre Writing Approach and the traditional approach in different classes and safely come to the conclusion from the data of the experiment that the Process-genre Writing Approach is suitable for the high school teaching class. Its feasibility lies in students'enthusiasm, motivation as well as the development of the writing ability by means of cooperative learning. Finally, the thesis analyzes and reflects on the result of the experiment and offers advice on the use of Process-genre Writing Approach. |
