| Offensive and defense are two contradictory factors in football matches. Offensive functions as an inductive behavior, making use of the other party's error so as to achieve the purpose of goals. Defense serves to control and undermine the other party's offensive, so as to achieve the purpose of anti-goals. And the interchange of the offensive and defense, especially a rapid interchange, fully displays this contradiction. Many fumbles in football matches, however, originate from the defensive negligence at the turn of offensive and defense. In modern time, the pace of interchange becomes increasingly rapid and pays more and more attention to the defense in movement, which requires the athletes to make a quick response on the situation. The return during the interchange from offensive to defense is rather difficult, and the goals often occur to the time of interchange of possession. The interchange of offensive and defense, offensive, defense and set-pieces constitute four main structures in football match, where the interchange serves as the turning point of offensive and defense.Basing on the observation of the top four teams'performance during the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa and the statistics and analysis of their defensive characteristic and quality at the instant from offensive to defense, this thesis attempts to touch the law of top teams'instant from offensive to defense and to find out the advantages of the top teams and disadvantages of the weak teams. The conclusion is as follows. First, in terms of fumbles at the instant from offensive to defense, dispossess of passing balls constitutes the most situations and irrational catching balls constitutes the least. Second, at the instant from offensive to defense, the successful dispossess ranks the most and many fouls are committed. Last but not least, the effect of the top four teams'instant from offensive to defense is obviously better than that of the last four ones. |
