Social Participation Of College Students In The Contemporary Era

Chinese society is experiencing a historical transform. It inevitably has profound effect on the psychology and behavior of college students. Compared with the situation before, contemporary college students changed utterly on the aspects of social concepts, value orientations and behavior patterns. In the ever-changing economic society, they gradually find out the significance of practical social participation to self improvement. Therefore, to guide the young college students positively and correctly to engage in abundant of social activities is a necessary means to achieve their comprehensive development, and it is a key link for the students to adapt themselves to society from college life. However, in reality there are still some concrete problems for them to participate in social activities. As the main positions to nurture college students, colleges and universities play irreplaceable roles on their theory training, personality moulding, psychological health, etc. Therefore, to strengthen social participation of contemporary college students, give full play to their key roles and realize their all-round development has become an urgent and important issue to solve.This paper mainly studies the current situation of social participation of the contemporary college students and seeks the practical means to enhance their ability to participate in social activities. After expounding the fundamental theory on social participation of contemporary college students, and based on the elaboration of the definition, contents, consciousness, motivation, mode and information acquisition approach of social participation, this paper investigates the specific situation of social participation of contemporary college students, and further analyzes the existing problems and four factors which affect their participation. Based on the grasp of era circumstances for social participation of the contemporary college students, and the importance realization of the social participation to contemporary college students'socialization, some tactics are put forward. The socialist core value system should guide contemporary college students to engage in social participation, constructing a long-effect mechanism for their participation, cultivating young college students'subjectivity on social participation, to create space to improve their abilities in social participation. The ultimate goal is to provide beneficial exploration and reference to raise the social participation level of the contemporary college students.
