The teaching of writing plays an important role in English teaching. However, because of the single-mode, many teachers can not get ideal effects on their English writing lessons. When the writer introduced cooperative learning into lessons, students participated very positively and thought actively. Especially on the aspect of writing teaching, the effect was very obvious. Cooperative learning can not only develop students'potential, but help students form good communicative abilities and highlight the students'dominant position in writing, and create a liberal independent writing atmosphere. The writer mainly did research on students'activities and the effective ways to evaluate in English writing classes.First of all, the thesis analyzed the research status of cooperative learning home and abroad. Based on the writer's own teaching practice, the cooperative learning method was applied to English writing lessons in junior high school. In order to understand more about the effectiveness of cooperative learning in junior English writing teaching, the writer adopted the way of experiment to verify the effectiveness of cooperative learning. And ideal effect was obtained.In the process of specific experiment, the contrast way was used to get obvious effects on the effectiveness of cooperative learning. Also the SPSS17.0 for Windows software was used to conduct a T-test on the results of two classes'English writing. After analyzing and comparing the English writing average scores and English average scores of experimental class and comparative class, a further analysis was made on the reason why cooperative learning could promote students'English writing. At last, based on the result of experiment, the corresponding solutions were put forward in allusion to the shortcomings and deficiencies of cooperative learning.The thesis consists of four chapters.In the first chapter, the writer introduces literature review; In the second chapter, the writer mainly talks about the basic theory of cooperative learning; In the third chapter, the thesis mainly talks about the experimental research on cooperative learning applied to English writing teaching in junior high shcool; In the last chapter, the writer talks about the revelation of cooperative learning in English writing teaching in junior high school.In future, the writer will keep concentrating on the problems and solutions in cooperative learning ,and the influence of cooperatvie learning to both the teachers and the students, and try to make cooperative learning more effective in promoting English teaching and learning.
