With the pace of the globalization and internationalization of the world economy accelerating, English, as a communication tool, is becoming more and more important. English learning of the senior high stage is the connecting stage between compulsive education and university education. However, during the course of English learning, English writing is the weakest among the four basic skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing, and the significance of English writing in our daily, the ratio of English writhing in tests are self–evident.For a long time, English teachers,influenced by the traditional concepts, have been placing emphasis on the memorization of words, the explanation of language points, and recitation of grammar rules. The recitation of excellent models of composition in National Entrance Exam is the principle means of teaching English writing. As a result, students always have puzzlements that they can learn all the words by heart, recite grammar rules, and excellent models of compositions, but they can't write compositions in native English. There are many errors and lots of problems in the composition written by them, and most of the sentences are just made by translating Chinese into English word by word. The reason is that the cognition structure of the students'writing in English in senior high school can not meet the requirements of English writing in senior high school in New Curriculum.In light of the above, the thesis, starting with the problems in the students'compositions in English, has made a detailed discussion on the construction of the strategies of improving English writing in senior high school from the angle of cognition structure. By reforming the traditional teaching method, we can introduce students some skills of writing in English while teaching to improve their English. This research may offer some reference and gist for teachers of English in senior high school.
