With the overall propulsion of the new curriculum reformation, the integration of information technology and chemistry teaching has become one of the hot topics in current teaching research. In recent years, hand-held technology is suitable to study quantitative problem and multivariate relationships, so it is applied on chemistry teaching in many domestic high schools. Thus, it can help students effectively and independently learn chemistry and improve their cognitive ability of chemical experiments.Based on the actual situation of chemistry experimental teaching, the study inquires factors which have impact on cognitive ability of experiments and checks the changes of students'learning extent in the process of experiment by means of hand-held technology, "POE" strategy, concept mapping technology and analysis of hand-held technology experiment designed by the students. Furthermore, it can provide more scientific research basis for experimental teaching and cultivation on students'cognitive ability of experiment.This paper is divided into four chapters. Chapter 1 describes the origin of this study from four aspects. Chapter 2 is the theoretical basis. Firstly the concept of cognitive ability of experiment is defined, followed by literature review on hand-held technologies and the theory on cognitive of experimental process. Chapter 3 is practical study, which states design of this experiment study and micro process of experimental cognition. Chapter 4 is the conclusion. I draw conclusions that experiment based hand-held technology can promote student's deep comprehension on the process of experiment and cultivate student's cognitive ability of experiment and effectively facilitate to realize experimental cognition through classroom observation, analysis of video and audio files, interviews, and experimental data in the report. These conclusions may make recommendations for the experimental teaching and cultivation on students'cognitive ability.
