Since the 1990s, rural education developed rapidly with the popularization of compulsory education and highly attention on rural education in China. The development of rural education improves the quality of laborers and promotes technological development in agriculture, thus promoting agricultural economic growth. Therefore, it has important significance to study the influence of rural education development on agricultural economic growth in China both in theory and practice.Based on the basic theories of modern economics, this paper studies the influence of rural education development on agricultural economic growth in China by comprehensively using various research methods. At the beginning, this paper introduces the basic theories of the influence of rural education development on agricultural economic growth. Following that the current status of rural education development and agricultural economic growth are explored. And then it empirically examined the influence of rural education development on agricultural economic growth by using the data of 1990-2008. Finally, it draws basic conclusion and puts forward some policies and suggestions.The main conclusions are as follows: Firstly, rural education influences agricultural economic growth by improving the quality of laborers, adjusting population structure, training agricultural ecological consciousness of laborers and promoting technological development in agriculture; Secondly, the rural education scales at various levels developed unbalaced with the lower educational level in China; Thirdly, rural education and agricultural economic growth have the long-term equilibrium relationship; rural human capital has a positive effect on agricultural economic growth with the elastic coefficient of 1.23, which is higher than physical capital's; howerver, the contribution rate of human capital is 15.13% and much lower than physical capital's because of its slow increasement.The main innovations are as follows: Firstly, this paper tries to fully and systematically reveal its influence mechanism from rural population and technological advancement. Secondly, it empirically examines the influence of rural education development on agricultural economic growth by setting up econometrics model with the data of 1990-2008, and estimates the contribution rate of human capital.
