So many expectations and attention were cast in the main position of education-class. Education workers hope to see high quality education output, students want to get concentrated knowledge and the happiness of successful experience, parents are waiting to see healthy, happy children.In recent years, learner participation class was focused on. Learner participation in English teaching is based on the theory of learner education. It refers to students' conscious, active and creative involvement in language learning activities under the teacher's guidance for their comprehensive development. Humans'subjectivity is manifested in their autonomy, initiative and creativity. etc., which is formed and developed in the course of practical activities. The New English Curriculum Standard puts great emphasis on students' learner participation in class. However, in actual teaching, too many students don't or wouldn't participate in teaching activities for a variety of reasons. So this paper focus on how to stimulate students' learning motivation to make students actively effectively participate in classroom teaching activity, and the effect of stimulating the motivation in a learner participation class.The experimental study is conducted in the Dalian NO.4 Middle School where 78 students from two classes are involved. One of the two classes is the control group; the other is the experimental group. The experiment lasts a semester. Related practice tasks are carried out in the experimental group. The research questions to be addressed in the study are the following:1)Can learner participation be developed through stimulating their motivation?2)Whether the development of learner participation class can benefit the students' academic achievement?The questionnaires and tests are respectively used to test subjects' motivation, learner participation and English proficiency after this study. The results of the questionnaire and the comparison of the testing scores between two groups indicate that:(1)Learner participation can be developed through stimulating their motivation.(2) The development of learner participation class can benefit the students' academic achievement.At the end of this thesis, implications and limitations of the study and suggestions for future study are covered.
