The Task-Based Teaching Approach breaks through the traditional concepts of the 3P teaching method which is mainly supposed ideas of teacher centre and language mechanical training. This new teaching method can cultivate their language learning interests and team work spirit, while it can improve learners'comprehensive linguistic competence. It can also make them learn to use language to learn language and learn language through doing things.This essay firstly put forward some existing problems in the traditional teaching method and pointed out that the Task-Based Teaching Approach could handle these problems. This method could handle the problems which caused the decreasing of learners'learning interests and enthusiasm. And then this essay carefully introduced task and the Task-Based Teaching Approach, and also stated author's own understanding of them. The content of this part includes the definition of task, the features, models and design principles of the Task-Based Teaching Approach. Different experts put forward different viewpoints on these theories. The author stated and analyzed these theories, and summarized those as theories. In the next part, it introduced theoretical basis of this method. They are Social Constructivism and the Second Language Acquisition theory (the Input Hypothesis and the Interactive Hypothesis). The author introduced the main ideas of these theories and analyzed the connection between the Task-Based Teaching approach and them. Next, the author analyzed and discussed with the experiment data which proved that the hypotheses were established. In this part, the author also stated how she applied this method in the teaching practice combining the above theories, her own teaching experience, and textbooks of senior high school. In the end, the author concludes what she has had through this study and also put forward some limitation of this study.The purposes of this study are as follows: compared with the traditional teaching method, whether the Task-Based Teaching Approach can enhance learners'language learning interests; whether the Task-Based Teaching Approach would improve learners'comprehensive linguistic competence.The research subjects are the students in some Senior High School in some city of Liaoning Province. There are two classes in this experiment, controlled class and experimental class, while at the end of the experiment, the author has a questionnaire to the students. The controlled class adopted the traditional teaching method while the experimental class adopted the Task-Based Teaching approach. The experiment time is one semester. The author compared and analyzed the data breadthwise and lengthwise, and got conclusion of experiment. It is concluded that the Task-Based Teaching Approach can enhance their learning enthusiasm and that it can improve students'language comprehensive application ability.The creation of the study is that the author creatively applied Willis'teaching modes and put forward her own teaching ideas according to her teaching experience and senior high school textbook.
